He co-founded BAME Wine Professionals with Jancis Robinson OBE MW in 2020, is a Golden Vines™ Scholar, and sits on several prestigious judging panels including the Decanter Retailer Awards.
Mags has made history by launching the first, and currently only, black-owned wine importer in the UK. As well as listing the UK’s largest portfolio of black-owned wines, MJ Wine Cellars imports quality wines with excellent value and a focus on family run producers. This portfolio includes wines by Ntsiki Biyela, who herself made history by becoming South Africa’s first black female winemaker. Not to mention Mags’ very own MAMA Wines, noted as the best Pét-Nat on the market by Jancis Robinson.
