The Kimmeridgian limestone soils of the Côte de Lechet, of which the Domaine farms 3 ha, produce wines of great elegance, power and complexity. This is mineral and saline in the mouth, with a beautiful array of green and soft orchard fruits – the latter, especially – owing to the sun-drenched hillside slopes which also provide ample graft for its winemakers, with a steep and sometimes unforgiving exposure. There is perfect tension on the palate (Angèle uses only stainless steel for vinification, to retain purity and not mask the terroir with the use of oak), which dances with peach, apple and a mouthwatering zesty character persisting on the long, refreshing finish.
