Premier Cru Vaillons is well-exposed, on the south-bank, allowing the Chardonnay berries to gain optimal ripeness and producing a wine which is a little fuller, with a softer fruit profile than the drier, more austere wines of the north bank. That is not to say it is fat or flabby, and the balance of rapier-like acidity make for a complete, complex and breathtaking white.
