House of Brown Red 2022
An immediately attractive red, bright in colour and rich in soft berry fruits. There are hints of subtle spicing and tea leaves on the pretty, vibrant nose.
£28.49
Like each of the House of Brown wines, the grapes for this red (majority Cabernet Sauvignon, the equal parts Pinot Noir and Tempranillo) come from sustainably managed, regeneratively farmed sites in California’s Lodi region. The nose is immediately bright and herbaceous, with tea leaf and hibiscus, red cherry and blackcurrant, and a warming cinnamon spice. The palate, meanwhile is rich but not dense, with crisp acidity and sweet, supple tannins. There is more red cherry, and a hint of almond, alongside strawberry and blackcurrant fruits, while the finish carries the subtle spicing with cinnamon, clove and a touch of sweet vanilla.
