Chateau Hostens-Picant was born with Yves and Nadine’s first vintage in 1990, after falling in love with the original estate on the first visit in 1986. After several a years of trials and tests, a new winery, cellar and warehouse were and with this, they chose to revive the Sainte-Foy appellation, created in 1937 but one which has fallen out of popularity and into disuse in the mid 1970’s.

This Grangeneuve Red, along with the white, is the ‘Second Wine’ of the estate, and the 2019 is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc with the accent fully on juicy ripe fruit and easy drinking appeal. It is full bodied on the palate but the tannins are soft, supple and yielding and compliment the delicious red and black cherry, dark plum and touch a touch of mocha beautifully.
