Domaine Guillot Gonin, Fleurie ‘La Chapelle de Bois’ 2023
A light, pretty and floral Beaujolais with strawberry, red cherry and even a little peach. Vibrant and juicy with a fresh, mineral core.
£21.49
This gorgeous Fleurie has a perfect balance of ripe, fresh red fruits and the elegant floral notes so typical of this appellation. La Chapelle de Bois is a south facing slope at the southern end of Fleurie, with pink granite soils topped with coarse sand. This exposure and the reflective properties of the topsoil aid ripening while also giving freshness and minerality to the wines. Old bush vines add concentration, but none of this is overblown and the wine remains pure, bright and aromatic with strawberry, raspberry and blueberry fruits, peony and apple blossom, all complimenting one another on the mid-weight, lithe palate.
