Sercial is a variety that is well-suited to the Atlantic Coast and the scorching Portuguese sun. It is important in the heat that varieties retain acidity, as they develop, in order to balance the riper fruit flavours. Here, we have a taut white, mineral in character from the deep limestone soils. There are crisp green fruits and warmer stone fruit flavours carried on the rasping, refreshing acidity typical of the grape, with a finish reminiscent of the Atlantic just 35 kilometres away.
