Château du Raux, Haut Médoc 2016
With a deep red colour, this wine is sweet with spicy oak and berry fruits on the nose, and a creamy texture on the palate. A Cru Bourgeois which is structured yet finessed.

Located between Pauillac and Margaux in the commune of Cussac-Fort-Médoc, Château du Raux is situated on 20 hectares of Médoc gravel. The 2016 is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and is typical of wines of the Médoc – deep in colour, full bodied, and seamlessly structured. The nose is subtly spiced, with layers of toast, smoke and pencil lead, with a round, structured yet elegant palate that shows bright aromas of fresh berries and hints of cedar and cocoa. There is plenty of of substance and matter and, in this most excellent vintage, it is a wine that was built for ageing.
