Séguret typically produces robust, forward reds. This is a blend of 90% Grenche, 10% Mourvèdre, the vines of which are some of the oldest on the Chamfort estate with an average age of over 50 years. The deep limestone soils here contribute a mineral freshness to the lingering finish which is awash with strawberry and redcurrant fruits. The small percentage of Mourvèdre in the blend adds impressive tannic structure to the broad and generous palate, with touches of blackberry and dark cherry as well.
