The 2023 Bourgogne Côte d’Or Pinot Noir is deeper and darker in colour than its predecessor but no less pretty and aromatic. The nose is bright with fresh strawberry, violet, dark cherry and sour redcurrant, with an appealing sous-bois scent to complement. In the mouth, the wine is full of energy, bright and typically refreshing, with the nose mimicked on the palate, with the addition of sour cherry and red plum, and, as always that kernel note, always prevalent. It is striking how up-front and generous the wine is, yet retaining enough character and complexity to fill the mid-palate, adding a delicate earthy spice to the long, fresh finish.
