The 2020 vintage produced slightly riper grapes than the last, and there is a little more residual sugar in the final wine this year. It is a vintage characterised by drought and some intense summer temperatures so care was required in the vineyard with canopy management, in particular, playing a large part in quality control. Those who picked earlier, picked ripe, healthy grapes which preserved acidity and this helps to balance the additional sugars in the finished wines. Here we have a ripe and floral Gerwrztraminer with intense aromatics and a succulent, mouthwatering pallet. A touch of spice and tannic bite make this an excellent partner to well-spiced dishes or an apple tarte tatin.
