Produced from hand-selected grapes across several plots of old vines, this Chiroubles comes from the steep slopes of the Col du Truges. The region’s distinctive pink granite soils are famed for producing beautifully ripe Gamay, and Corrine Gonin describes this wine as “the most Beaujolais of all the Crus”. Delicate raspberry and red cherry fruit mingle with touches of peony and rose, leading into a gorgeously silky palate, where succulent, yielding tannins give way to a juicy, moreish finish. Elegant Beaujolais at its finest, it offers more substance than Juliénas without quite the structure of Moulin-à-Vent.
