Piesporter Goldtröpfchen is regularly considered one of the Mosel’s top vineyards. It sits on steep, stony slopes consisting of slate, with a complex mix of fine soils and an excellent natural water supply. Impressive, multi-layered Rieslings with lots of fruit and spice are consistently produced here, and Christian Hermann’s 2023 is certainly no different. The wine shows a steely taut frame, with delightful floral aromas and an abundance of rich peach and apricot fruits. The finely balanced sweetness adds weight and texture to the palate and the long, tingling finish.
