Château Hostens-Picant, Cuvée des Demoiselles, Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux 2019

The Cuvée des Demoiselles is the Château’s signature white wine. The grapes are chosen from the vineyard’s best clay-limestone and clay-flint plots. Always produced with the greatest attention to detail, its careful maturation in large oak barrels, with regular lees stirring, gives the wine a little density and structure. Sauvignon Blanc brings ripe citrus and white flowers notes while the addition of Semillons, adds some stone fruits and tropical notes. There is a small amount of Muscadelle giving aromatic lift to the nose and palate, and the whole is a complex, and fruit forward White Bordeaux which will gain nutty complexity over time.
